For some reason I never though to go beyond the Lost In Translation soundtrack with my dormant My Bloody Valentine curiosity. I'm not sure what exactly incited a sudden interest but after spontaneously deciding to acquire an album I became extremely taken with the band. Yes, the music is ghostly/haunting/ethereal but my favourite aspect is the use of instrumentation.
Its rare that a band places the instruments as the central character in place of the vocals, which are relatively soft and essentially used to merely compliment. I wish I made the effort to go beyond the gorgeous Sometimes earlier. But here we are now..
